Prenatal Sessions / Visits

During your pregnancy journey, I offer prenatal sessions/visits either virtually or in person. These appointments are to get to know you and your partner, to talk about your hopes and concerns on this pregnancy journey, help you create your ideal birth vision, provide you with information regarding your pregnancy & birth, answer any questions you may have, and to go over some hands on practices. These session/visits may look different depending on how you would like me to contribute to your birth experience. Whether you are hoping to have a natural home birth, birth in the hospital, medicated or non-medicated, or c-section, I am here to help prepare & support you mentally, emotionally and physically.

Birth Attendance

Starting at 38 weeks I will be on call for you, up until baby is born. When labour begins, I will be there throughout your entire birth experience. I will be there to contribute with emotional support, to help keep you comfortable & manage contractions, to ensure labour is progressing & to guide you through delivery. I will be using natural pain relief methods, coping practices & support including positioning, movements, breathing techniques & visualizations, touch, counter pressure & massage, creating balance & space in the body for baby to make their journey into this world. I will also be there to assist you with birth options and information to help you communicate to your birth team with confidence.

I am there for you and I will also be there for your partner, providing emotional support & to guide them in supporting you with confidence in ways they can contribute to this birth experience.

I am there to hold space for you and to make you feel empowered by your birth experience!

-I will be with you while you labour at home, and if you choose a home birth, and I will also be able to support you in person at the hospital if/when you need to go, as the current hospital guidelines are allowing 2 support partners during labour & delivery.

Postpartum Visit

The postpartum visit included with Birth Doula Support will be within the first few weeks of you being home with your new little one. Your Doula will be there to ensure everyone is settling in nicely, to answer any questions you may have, to support you with emotional or physical changes & healing, revisit your birth experience, and to provide you with any community resources that may contribute to your postpartum journey.

We also offer additional Postpartum Doula Services that can be booked online in 3 hour blocks.

If you require hours outside our online booking calendar, a longer period of time or multiple days - please email newearthwellnessinfo@gmail.com or use our contact page with more information regarding your needs.

Other areas of support during these extended visits may also include light house work (tidying, vacuuming, etc.), making meals, groceries, promoting self care, bottle feed, clean diapers, be with baby while you sleep, shower, work, etc.

Postpartum doulas don’t offer medical advice or provide any medical care, the doula can provide information, resources and support. If they can’t help you, they can help you find someone who can.
